"Amazing Grace" Beeston Pipe Band
Nottingham is not usually the first place one thinks of when considering Scottish pipe music. However, the Beeston & District Pipe Band Society, formed in 1965, achieved membership of the Scottish Pipe Band Association the following year, and have toured much of the world since. The CD contains many familiar tunes including the title track, plus a whole mix of reels, slow airs, strathspeys, hornpipes, and marches. Firm instance, track 2 combines Dream Valley Of Glendaruel, Loch Maree, and Far Over Struy, all retreat marches. It’s not all about strident marches though, as the slow airs The Blackbird and Westering Home will testify. | ||
