“Here and Now” Chris While & Julie Matthews

Instead of augumenting their sound with other musicians, they have decided to not only write all the material, but to produce and mix and play all the instruments as well. The ten tracks run for a sparse (these days) 40 minutes or so but include may songs worthy of note, including the positive opener On My Way. The bass player is not credited on this track, but I would assume it is Julie Matthews. Other songs that grab you are Florish (While), Cover Our Eyes (Matthews) and Innocent New Year (Matthews).
With a bundle of awards behind them, and their songs covered by many notable artists including Barbara Dickson, Christine Collister and Fairport Convention it would seem that they are unable to put a foot wrong.
